Patek Philippe has relaunched the Nautilus 5990/1A travel time chronograph with the familiar 41.5 mm stainless steel case. Still, this time instead of a gray dial, it features a new sunburst blue dial with a black gradient. The integrated steel strap also features a patented adjustable buckle. Other details remain the same, such as the CH 28-520 C FUS self-winding movement that drives the flyback chronograph, the two time zones, and the watch’s date and time functions.
Next up is a new version of the beloved Nautilus 5712, now in 18-carat pink gold, from the 40 mm case to the integrated bracelet. The rose gold strap also benefits from a new patented folding clasp with a lockable adjustment system.
The attractive off-center date and moon phase, running seconds and power reserve subdials of the Nautilus 5712/1R-001 sit on a beautiful brown sunburst dial that fades to black in the outer sections. The Caliber 240 PS IRM C LU self-winding movement is visible from the back of the watch.
The Nautilus 7118/1300R has a 35.2 mm pink gold case and a matching integrated pink gold bracelet, which shines even brighter thanks to the bezel set with 68 baguette-cut diamond-shaped stones in shades of cognac and champagne. We’ll drink to that! The rose gold wave-patterned dial also features 11 cognac-colored peridot hour markers linked to a date window at 6 o’clock. Inside the case is the Caliber 324 S C automatic movement, which can of course, be seen through the sapphire case back.
Continuing with the theme of gem-set Patek Philippe sports replica watches, let your eyes take in the new Aquanaut Luce “Rainbow” Chronograph, aka 7968-300R-001, a colorful, sparkling watch with a 39.9 mm rose gold case and a bezel dotted with not one but two rows of precious stones: 40 colored sapphires and 40 diamonds.
Of course, this glittering spectacle continues on the mother-of-pearl dial, which features a dozen small stone-toned sapphires as hour markers. Patek Philippe has added 10 diamonds to the pink gold folding clasp for good measure.
Aside from the gorgeous stones, this is the first time Patek Philippe has made a chronograph for the women’s Aquanaut Luce collection, and it’s a self-winding flyback chronograph, powered by the CH 28-520 movement.

No matter if you’re a diehard Patek lover or not, we have to say that the brand had a great year in terms of new releases. The two highly desirable sports models which we call the Nautilus and Aquanaut gained new additions to their own collections, each positioned at opposite ends of the scale in terms of complexity.
Some of these new replica watches ruffled a few feathers within the purist’s circles as “not being very Patek” in their aesthetics, but the brand has been proving intent on reaching a broader audience with these innovations, and they seem to be on the right track in that respect. No matter what camp you’re in, there was something for everyone lurking in the fake Patek Philippe booth. 
This new addition is unlikely to bring an end to the steel Nautilus waitlists, but it might make it the faintest bit easier to get your hands on one.
While not a new fake model, this latest release brings the classic Nautilus blue to the Annual Calendar Moonphase model previously only available in slate grey. Now having seen the two colors side by side, it’s no easy to argue with the fact that this new dial variant has become the essential version soon.
This slightly vintage-looking piece is hands-down the home run of the pack for several reasons. To begin with, we have a new caliber from the replica Patek Philippe. It’s based on the caliber 324; however, the configuration of the complication affixed to it is new. Second, it’s an entirely new steel watch that isn’t a Nautilus or Aquanaut, which is something we definitely do not see often from the brand.
This funky new 40mm calendar watch stands for a compelling alternative to the heavily hyped icon before even touching on the point that a 5711 is a nightmare to track down these days. Personally, I’d take the sophistication any day of the week.
Variations of this watch just seem to keep taking heat from the enthusiast sect time after time. “Patek has no business building a pilot’s watch,” they say, or other such nonsense. Of course, they don’t have an aviation history like Breguet or Breitling replica watch, but with so many brands pulling watch designs out of the ether, I don’t think that we can keep complaining like this so long as the pieces remain well executed. If you’re a fan of clever executions of complications in general, this piece will tick plenty of boxes.
First, you have the standard Patek Travel Time setup, where the local time is advanced and retarded via pushers on the left of the case. However, instead of cluttering the dial with another hand, Patek displays the alarm set time digitally below the 12 o’clock marker. The reason is that the fake Patek used a variation of their minute repeater gongs to provide the alarm chime, cased the piece in platinum. Actually, I don’t agree with the nomenclature, it’s an amazing piece, and one worth coveting for sure.

One of the best things about Baselworld is the rush of receiving the press releases and then eventually getting to see the replica watches in the metal. Press images often don’t do a watch justice and the 5212A Calatrava Weekly Calendar is a great example. It is known to all that steel watches are very popular right now, whether it’s the 5711, no-date Sub, or Pepsi GMT, people prefer the fake steel watches. Therefore, we are going to take a better look at this model in steel, which stands for a completely new complication in a new case with a completely new dial.
Jack covered the specs of the 5212A pretty well here, but to reiterate, this fake watch is a weekly calendar watch. Basically, this is a simple calendar movement that accounts for the day, month, and week according to the ISA 8610 standard. This says that the first official week of the year starts on the Monday of the week of January 4. From there, the date is indicated in the date window at three o’clock, the day is indicated by the shorthand with a flat red end, and what’s more, the week and month are indicated by a similar but longer hand around the outer edge of the dial. It is reminiscent of the traditional triple calendars of the past, but with a little different focus.
The movement is not totally new but is rather based on the classic caliber 324. It does, however, have some important technological advancements including improvements to the fourth wheel that drives the center seconds and the “kick-start” mechanism that helps push the center seconds forward after pulling out the crown. This is a seemingly minor adjustment that makes a difference in accuracy and the nuisances of a lagging second’s hand. It also just goes to show that Patek still takes watchmaking seriously even at the most minute level – but we already understood that.
The case measures 40mm in diameter and is 10.79mm thick, but what is really getting people talking is the fact that it’s steel. The replica Patek hasn’t made a steel Calatrava since the limited-edition Pilot’s Calatrava 5522A in 2017 and then before that in the 1970s with the references 96 and 570. This case is also special due to the two-step lugs which further throwback to the bygone era of vintage steel fake watches.
However, as for me, the most interesting part of this cheap replica watch is the unusual typography which looks to be handwritten, since it was actually handwritten. It is greatly unusual to use such a whimsical text for such a traditional company. The original plan for the dial was a more formalized font but Thierry Stern was encouraged by the way it looked in free-form so they went with it. I suppose it further solidifies this fake watch as a vintage throwback and makes the watch more youthful and interesting.
This replica watch fits very comfortably and cozy on the wrist. The case size of 40mm seems not too big and feels good overall. The calfskin strap, albeit a small detail, makes a big difference in comparison to the crocodile straps that Patek replicas usually come on. But ultimately, I find the complete lack of necessity the most charming thing about this watch.

I forget the first time that I saw a Patek Philippe watch, but I still remember one of the first, and it gave a deep impression. Several years ago, there was a client that I had worked with in the past who had consigned some smaller pieces. He was always friendly and kind-hearted, and he reached out to me one day to say he was ready to consign his 3970E in yellow gold. I nervously searched for comps with the reserve at the low estimate. The auction soon approached and, much to my dismay, there was little interest in the watch. I frantically called the consignor the night before the auction and lowered the reserve to ensure more bidding activity – needless to say, he wasn’t happy, and I got an earful. The cheap replica watches ended up selling at a very cheap price. To this day, I think about this story whenever I hear of a 3970. It hasn’t curbed my love of the watch, but I have always wondered: What’s the matter with the 3970, and why does nobody seem to care about it?
As far as I am concerned, the attraction has always been there. It’s considered one of the last great designs from the replica Patek Philippe and is a fairly complex piece. The aesthetics are there, the size is there, the movement is there – it has all the makings of a collector’s watch, but for some reason, the results are always a little soft, a little lackluster. So I set out to really break down this watch and to see what it’s all about. Let’s dig in.
This popular watch was born in 1986. One must remember the 1980s were a weird time for mechanical watches. Quartz movements were shaking things up and people just didn’t care about complicated fake watches. As a matter of fact, even chronographs weren’t popular. Like, at all. So when the 3970 perpetual calendar chronograph dropped in 1986, it was not easy for retailers to move.
The 3970 was made in white, yellow, and rose gold, as well as platinum. The case itself measures 36mm, which is 1.5mm smaller than that of 2499. Downsizing was an interesting move on Patek’s part. There are twin apertures for the day of the week and the month at 12 o’clock, and traditional round chronograph pushers flanking the crown. All in all, it’s a very  Patek Philippe replica and stands for a transitional time for the brand as a modern piece released after post-vintage era greats such as the 1518 and 2499, both of which have reached grail status.
Let’s say something about the movement. This caliber was the first non-Valjoux-based movement Patek ever used in a chronograph. On the contrary, it was based on the Lemania 2310, which was also the base of the beloved caliber 321 movements used in early replica Omega Speedmasters. This manual-winding movement has a 60-hour power reserve and was also used in the later 5970 and 5004. It’s a beautiful and reliable movement that remained in use for the entire lineage of the 3970. The finishing on this caliber is excellent – all hand-done, of course.

What is the mainstream of the branded replica watches? Petek started as a trend intended to appeal to the hardcore of collectors and somewhere along the way it became a key pillar in major brands release strategies. 2017 is a special year for novelty, new upgrades, and amazing improvement.
As far as the dial is concerned, most of the attention heaped upon the 5320G has paid much attention to it, and it’s easy to find the reason. The layout is balanced, with day and month apertures at the top, also with a moon phase display and pointer date at the bottom. The functions at six are flanked by relatively discreet portholes displaying day/night and leap year indicators individually. Besides, the dial is very warm ivory or cream color, combined with applied black gold Arabic numerals and syringe-style hands. Both hands and numerals are full of Super-LumiNova, and the entire package is topped off with a Plexi-evoking glass box sapphire crystal. If you’re looking for nits to pick, you could deny the fact that the pure white calendar discs are not harmonious with the dial or the fact that the dial is lacquer rather than enamel. However, all this doesn’t take away from just how stunning the 5320G is on the wrist. 
As for me, the case is just the real matter, specifically the lugs. Triple-stepped and gently curving, this Deco design touch is perfection. Add to these lugs the broad bezel and middle as seen from the top down, and the slightly recessed crown, and there’s no denying that Patek has successfully captured their history in this piece. 40mm is rather big for this style of watch, and I guess 38-39mm would have been enough size upgrade. Interestingly, the case is in fact a single piece of gold, something that surprised me after having held the watch in my hands – I would have thought it had a more sophisticated multipart construction.
The 5320G is powered by the caliber 324 S Q, the first time the base 324 has had an everlasting module popped on top. The power reserve isn’t huge enough, at around 40-45 hours, but the finishing, as with all replica Patek Philippe, is superb and excellent.
Consequently, the 5320G is a wonderful example of Patek Philippe moving with the times. They’ve cherry-picked some of the sweetest elements from their enviable past and put it all into a stylish, delicious package.
